Introduction

5-year Integrated Master (M.S) Course

The Govt. of India, through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), has set up five science institutes patterned after the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.), Bangalore in terms of a high quality search in basic science, but with an additional educational programme in the form of an Integrated 5-year Masters curriculum, following class XII of our School system (or its equivalent.) The Institute are located at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.

Objective
The central theme of IISERs is to integrate education with research so that Undergraduate and Postgraduate teachings as well as Doctoral and Post Doctoral research works are carried out in symbiosis.
Each IISER requires up to 100 students in the academic session (this is subject to change)

Eligibility

Students wishing to pursue Science as a career with scientific research and teaching and have passed (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination in previous year or will be appearing in current year may apply in plain paper giving all the relevant information required by the institute.
Those students who have qualified any one of the following examinations are eligible for consideration for admittance to the First year of the 5-year integrated Masters Program at the Below three IISER's

  • KISHORE VAIGYANIC PROTSHAN YOJNA (KVOY) OF SB+2 (www.iisc.ernet.in/kvpy)
  • State / Central Board’s channel students with minimum marks criteria
  • IIT JEE (those who figure in merit lists fowl-sized)
